This is a town wide Medieval Football match that takes part on Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday of each year in Ashbourne a town in Derbyshire. Thought to be originated in the 12th Century and officially started as it is known today in 1667. Two towns fight teeth and nail to get the Ball into the goals 3 miles apart, the game is played more like rugby than football with both kicking and throwing the ball allowed.
